Global environmental regulations, especially the EU REACH Annex XVII rules, have completely reshaped the export standards for oil-extended SBR rubber. Traditional DAE (Distillate Aromatic Extract) oil-extended SBR contains high PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) content, which fails to meet EU environmental thresholds and is gradually restricted from entering European markets.
TDAE (Treated Distillate Aromatic Extract) oil-extended SBR has become the mainstream eco-friendly alternative. After deep hydrogenation and purification treatment, TDAE-based SBR features extremely low PAH content, fully complying with REACH environmental requirements. It retains excellent rubber processing performance, ensuring no loss in tire abrasion resistance, tensile strength, and compound stability.
In current global rubber trade, over 60% of international tire manufacturers have fully switched to TDAE-compliant SBR grades such as SBR 1723. Compared with DAE SBR, TDAE SBR supports zero-compliance risks for European, North American and high-standard regional shipments, covering tires, footwear, and industrial rubber products.
As global low-carbon and sustainable manufacturing requirements continue to upgrade, environmentally friendly TDAE oil-extended ESBR and eco-modified SSBR will further replace traditional non-compliant grades. Choosing REACH-certified green SBR has become the basic threshold for global rubber supply chain procurement and long-term cross-border cooperation.
